PHOTO FEATURES:
There are three separate features here, plus the mostly forested trails:
Websters Falls: Panoramic views of the 22m vertical drop falls, stone bridge and forested gorge from a few different points. Significant water flow in spring and early summer dwindles somewhat through the summer. In winter, ice forms below the falls.
Note: There is no trail connecting the two waterfalls.
Tews Falls: Views overlooking the 41m sheer drop and bowl-shaped gorge are from two different observation platforms. The volume of water varies with snow melt and rainfall, at times dwindling to almost nothing, particularly in later summer. In winter an ice cone forms below the falls.
Dundas Peak is accessed via Tews Falls. There is a panoramic view up the forested Spencer Gorge, across Dundas Valley, and to the southeast towards Hamilton.
NATURAL FEATURES: Native spring wildflowers are found throughout the forested areas. The autumn colours of the mostly deciduous forest of maple and beech trees is spectacular.
TRAIL NOTES: Webster's Falls and Tews Falls are not connected by a trail. You cannot visit both falls from the same parking lot.
Furthermore, there is no official access trail to the base of either waterfalls.
Dangerous cliff-side trails can be slippery when wet. Stay back 2m from the edge.
During the Autumn peak season, pre-registration and off-site parking and bussing may be required.
